Port Royal is Hilton Head Island's only completely private oceanfront residential community. It lies at the heel of the Island, with approximately 1 mile of beautiful beach where the Port Royal Sound meets the Atlantic Ocean. Residents can walk, unimpeded and unobstructed, directly along the Island’s quietest beaches.
Many residents of Port Royal enjoy activities such as kayaking, tennis, pickleball, freshwater and saltwater fishing, swimming in the Association's Olympic-sized pool, farming, sailing, playing golf, and so much more! Enjoy the miles of pristine beachfront, exclusive amenities, and two challenging golf courses. You will be glad you did!

Within a short walk of your home, you will find leisure paths for running, biking or strolling, wetlands for both freshwater and saltwater fishing, and historical sites such as the Steam Gun located at the end of Fort Walker Drive or Fort Sherman with entrances on Sherman Place and Sherman Drive. There's a Lowcountry style Beach House for functions and gatherings as well as pristine beaches fronting both the Atlantic Ocean and the Port Royal Sound.
Port Royal amenities offer a higher level of living in a laid-back, oceanfront style.

The Beach House area and pool are the Association's biggest assets and both are very popular with Landowners. The Olympic size outdoor pool and zero-entry kiddie pool are open year-round.  The Beach   House is available to Landowners at all times and features a community room, screened porch, oceanfront deck, boardwalk to the beach, and beach lockers. In addition, event space rental for approximately 150 guests is available for noncommercial Landowner functions.

The Association owns and maintains 21 beach access paths, divided equally across our coastline.  The paths vary in width, some being only 10 feet wide while others are up to 50 feet wide. The paths are generally left in a natural state, with a minimum clear area for walking of about 10 feet. They are trimmed and mowed several times a year.
The paths are designed to provide a convenient access point to the shore for residents that live in the immediate vicinity of the path.  Because of this, only 3 have parking.  These are at the Steam Gun, Fort Walker Park, and the Beach House. Each path is marked by a sign on the street side. The sign gives both the Association’s number for the path and the corresponding number of the closest Town marker on the beach. This is to facilitate emergency responses on the beach.

Nestled along the Atlantic coastline, Port Royal
Golf Club, named one of the “Top 10 ‘Exotic’ Golf      Courses in the World” by World Property Channel      and one of the “Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts” by Golf      Digest magazine, is located on the Northwestern      point of Hilton Head Island. Praised for its exceptional golf experience.  The club also offers
a world-class tennis facility and pickleball courts. The Club is situated in the pristine Port Royal community along with the luxurious oceanfront Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa.
This golf haven was designed by some of the best golf architects, such as George Cobb, Pete Dye, and William Byrd, and having hosted the Champions TOUR Hilton Head Seniors International. It has been honored with the presence of some of golf’s legendary players. The Port Royal Golf Club was recognized as a “1997 Silver Medal Resort” by Golf Magazine for its three spectacular 18-hole golf courses: Barony, Planter’s Row, and Robber’s Row.

Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club is proud to be a part of The Heritage Collection on Hilton Head Island, along with Oyster Reef Golf Club and Shipyard Golf Club. The Collection is owned and operated by Heritage Golf Group, a leading boutique owner and operator of high-end golf facilities nationwide.

Membership at PRPC is not a mandatory requirement of living in the Port Royal community, but many Landowners choose to become members because of the benefits! Learn more about membership or to join their mailing list CLICK HERE.

Located in a sunny field next to the Port Royal Tennis        Courts, the Fish Haul Farmers grow a variety of                  vegetables throughout the long Lowcountry growing          season. Many items can be grown through the late fall and even into the winter season, so it is usually more
than one harvest per year.
There are forty-three raised garden plots and a                  designated organic area for those interested in                  chemical-free gardening. An electric fence surrounds the perimeter which keeps deer and rabbits from dining on the fresh delicacies. Water and electricity is onsite, as well as a garden shed to hold all your farming supplies.

The Port Royal Calendar is always full of new activities and ways to get involved. There are many clubs and social activities in the community ensuring that residents lead an active and connected lifestyle.  CLICK HERE for a complete list of all the Clubs and Organizations.
